Creative Cardmaking 12

You may have noticed that Creative Cardmaking has had a bit of a facelift! We thought it was about time we freshened things up for you, the readers, so we have made a few changes to the magazine based on all your feedback.

The main thing you wanted to see was more ideas using the free papers, so you will now find that there are eight pages full of inspiration wrapped around the free papers, starting on page 39. This month, Kirsty Wiseman makes the most of the free ‘Let them eat cake’ paper collection, which features lots of bright colours and bold patterns such as dots, stripes and paisleys, combined with cute cupcake and birthday cake images to help you create great cards suitable for all ages.

We’ve also made a few visual changes to make the magazine easier to navigate. For starters, we’ve colour-coded the different sections. For instance, in the contents page you will notice that the Beginner’s Technique Class (which this month is resist work) is boxed in a salmon pink colour and the feature itself has a strip of the same colour down the outside edges to make it easier to identify. There is also a stamp mark on the regular features showing you what they are. We hope you like the changes!

This month we have featured a large array of techniques and styles so there is something to suit all tastes. For instance, Dyan Reaveley teaches us all about grungeboard in the Technique of the Month on page 31, but if a more off-the-page style is your thing then you’ll absolutely love Judith Hannington’s fruity feature on page 48.

We also have a ‘1 Product, 6 Ideas’ feature on page 35 using an embossing board, and adorable stamped cards from PartiCraft in the How To Use section on page 59. If you are interested in stamping turn to page 70 where the gorgeous Thomas Kincade stamps are used to best effect, and we have the answer to creating cards for those awkward teenage years with Kirsty Maluga’s rock star designs on page 67.

I’m sure many will love them, but the colours in this issue are just too bright for me. I look forward in the future to either more pastels or dark earthen shades or even metallics maybe, for a change.

i agreed with debbie and flicked through the designer papers in the newsagents but chose another magazine, BUT I wiil continue to keep looking in the for a return to colours previously used. too many pinks and purples for my taste to attract my attention and subscription.

I have been cardmaking for about 6 Years, and its the first time Ive bought your creative cardmaking magazine. I bought it at the Fairymoons in Royston yesterday and have hardly put it down. The content of this magazine is amazing. I make cards to sell for fundraising for our Salvation Army. Ive had what Ive heard called Crafters block, so I shall make sure I get your magazine every month. I cant wait to get started again. THANKYOU so much.

I have just bought the latest copy of Creative Cardmaking containing the Debbi Moore Glitz & Glitter and found the papers so beautiful that I couldn’t bear to cut them out of the mag so copied them. I will be buying the CD and Glitter as It is such good value and I will be interested to see the other designs on the disc as well as seeing the results when you use the pot of glitter on them. I can’t wait to get the next issue as there is so much in it and so many designs to use . I also used Designs from the special edition to make some valentine cards. The texture of the papers is fantastic I must say that unlike some of the magazines which I used to have on subscription I cancelled as the papers were part of the magazine i.e. the same texture with something on the back and really not usable to make such lovely cards As I am disabled it gives me a lot of pleasure
Keep up the good work
Regards
Dora Cochrane
